Surveys

Electrical – A complete and comprehensive check of the vessel’s electrical systems for safety, reliability, and seaworthiness with respect to engineering design, materials, installation, and compliance with ABYC’s Standards and Technical Information Reports for Small Craft

Corrosion – Bottom and damage inspections and in-water testing of the vessel’s bonding and cathodic protection system. Determination of cause of various types of electro-mechanical, galvanic, local and stray current corrosions. One of our three ABYC certifications.

Lightning Strike, Flooding, or Fire Damage – Determination of electrical damages resulting from various casualties. Typically the first step in the filing of an insurance claim for replacement and repair.

Thermal Imaging - Infrared inspections offer a low-cost predictive maintenance tool to find and correct heat-related issues before a more costly failure occurs.

Testing

Insulation Resistance (Megger) Testing – As required by ABS and Lloyd’s Registy classed vessels

Switchgear Testing – As required for ABS, Lloyd’s Registry classed vessels

Battery Load Testing – The most reliable method of battery testing - Carbon Pile Load Testing.

Ground Fault Testing/Tracing – Determine and correct faults and causes of nuisance tripping for shore power ELCI’s, GFCI circuit, DC ground faults, etc.

Charging Systems Testing – Prove function and proper configuration of all charging sources and auxiliary equipment including chargers, alternators, solar panels, battery isolators, auto charge relays, etc.
